Yes, the designer has changed - a lot...

With the move to our latest shopping site, we did see a significant change to our album designer.  Some have asked why, many have noticed the change and we admit it's different. While not full featured, the new designer does owrk and it does allow you to do BASIC album design.  It is best suited for pros to use a pre-designed spread with their orders, and is actually quite easy to use in this configuration.  We HIGHLY recommend using an outside album desiing app.  We've used one for over 10 years ourselves - the cost is quite low when compared to the time-savings and ease of use in these purpose-built apps. 

Why the change, can i get the old designer back?

Simply put, the old designer is gone, forever.  And while we recognize that change can suck, we hope a quick explanation of why we did this will help put this into perspective.  To continue to run our own custom design app we would have had to focus what we felt was too much of our resources into becoming a software company.  That paired with massively increased costs for that software would have necessitated charging our users a monthly subscription fee.  We felt that this was NOT a direction we wanted to go in.  There are already many great design apps on the market (See below) and we chose to focus on bringing you a much larger seection of products and offerings all available now on our new shopping site.

So while the designer may suck, you now have over 2000 new products or options of products available TODAY on our site.  And we're going to help you with the cost of your designer - keep reading.

• Fundy Designer - downloadable, lots of tools, excellent support; easy to use drop zone and auto-build technology, great proofing system and with their latest updates auto-design options to make your life easy & save you time.
• SmartAlbums by Pixellu - our favourite, very easy to use; fantastic built-in proofing option. We've designed albums for years and Pixellu has been our go to the whole time.  It honeslty makes 5 min album design a reality!
• AlbumWorks (web-based) - like a browser based pared down version of Fundy, cheapest option
